The Ejido opens the Castillo de Guardias Viejas for dramatized visits during the summer

With the collaboration of the Association 'Ángel Aguilera Alférez' through the founding partner and member of the board of directors Miguel Guerrero as Captain of Engineers of the Castillo de Guardias Viejas.

The cultural program for this summer 2020 includes a new activity aimed at highlighting the cultural heritage of the municipality of El Ejido. These are the dramatized visits to the Guardias Viejas Castle.

In the words of the Councilor for Culture, Julia Ibáñez, "an attractive, didactic and different way of learning about the history of our municipality and one of the many visits that over the next few months will be implemented in different enclaves".

Four visits have been organized throughout the summer period, specifically on July 11 and 18 and August 1 and 22.

These dramatized visits have the altruistic collaboration of the Ángel Aguilera Alférez Association through the founding partner and member of the board of directors Miguel Guerrero as Captain of Engineers of the Castillo de Guardias Viejas, together with the actors of the local amateur theater company Botavara Teatro. Together they form the cast that accompanies the viewer through the premises of this Castle.

This activity is part of the programming of a somewhat atypical cultural summer and whose premise has been support for the local cultural sector that has been affected so much by covid-19. "Hence, a series of small-format concerts have been programmed by various local artists, always preserving security measures and which begin this Friday at the Almerimar rugby field at 10 pm, jazz, pop, soul, flamenco will be some of the musical proposals that we will be able to enjoy throughout the months of July and August ”, indicates Ibáñez.

The program includes great family theater plays by local companies such as Servicios Cultural Alejú and companies endorsed by the Andalusian Red circuit of public theaters such as Ángeles de Trapo, Escenoteca, El Gran Dimitri or the Banda de Otro, with concerts by local bands and musical groups and family cinema in different parts of the municipality.

A whole cultural offer programmed entirely in the open air and free of charge so that this summer we can all enjoy Culture in complete tranquility.

As for the measures that the Culture Area has taken to ensure compliance with the regulations set by the Andalusian Government, they include, among others: capacity control and social distancing with the placement of chairs in all activities, cleaning and disinfection of the same, reinforcement of the control personnel in the activities and support of civil protection in the same.

On Monday, the outdoor film screenings will be resumed with titles such as The Five and the Valley of the Dinosaurs, which can be seen on Monday, starting at ten at night in the Almerimar Rugby Field. This same film can be seen on Thursday in the Municipal Park of El Ejido.

On Tuesday, at ten o'clock at night, the Magic Park will be screened in Brisamar Park, and on Wednesday, at the same time, it will be in El Palmeral de Balerma Park.
