The province of Almería once again exceeds one hundred daily coronavirus infections, although with a lower figure than in the last five days. Of course, the data is the worst in all of Andalusia, in a day in which the autonomous community has added 454 cases.

According to the latest update of the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), in Almería 105 positives detected through PDIA tests (PCR technique or rapid antigen test) have been reported in the last 24 hours. Numbers that improve on those of the weekend and that seem to confirm the plateau on which this third wave is right now: since Wednesday, March 3, when there were 63 cases, 126 (Thursday 4), 143 (Friday 5), 185 (Saturday 6) and 133 (Sunday 7).

What continues to cause the third wave are deaths: a fatal victim of coronavirus reported this Monday, March 8. There have also been 4 new hospitalizations, one of them in Intensive Care. On the positive side, there are 201 recovered.

Thus, the active cases of Covid-19 in the province as of March 8 are 13,288: it is the difference between the total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the health crisis (46,108) and the difference between the total number of deaths (668) and of recovered (32,152).

Regarding the accumulated incidence, the rate in the province stands at 239 cases in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants. In the capital, this marker is today at 250.3.

Hospitalized

With this latest data update, according to the Junta de Andalucía, right now there are 150 confirmed patients with coronavirus admitted to the province of Almería; of them, 52 are in the ICU.

In the autonomous community as a whole, the Ministry of Health and Families reports that, currently, after 19 new admissions compared to yesterday (only 1 in ICU), there are now 1,315 confirmed patients with Covid-19 admitted, of which 338 they are in ICU.

The rest of the community presents this is the situation: in Cádiz there are 155 hospitalizations, of which 50 in ICU; in Córdoba, 119, of which 32 in ICU; in Granada there are 238 patients hospitalized for the disease, of which 65 are in the ICU; and in Huelva there are 53 hospitalizations, of which 9 are in the ICU.

By provinces, Almería is where the most positives have been reported. Behind her are Cádiz, with 90 positives; Seville with 70; Córdoba with 66; Malaga with 64; and Granada with 43. With much lower figures, Jaén, with 11 positives, and Huelva, with 5.

Regarding the deceased, there are 9 more people who have lost their lives due to Covid-19: 1 in Almería, 1 in Cádiz, 2 in Córdoba, 2 in Granada, 1 in Huelva and 2 in Malaga.
